Digital Downloads are High Risk Merchant Accounts
Digital Downloads are High Risk Merchant Accounts
Digital downloads are expanding like wild fire. Software, music, games, video, ringtones, and digital content are being downloaded at unprecedented rates. The times are exciting for merchants selling digital content. The right product, targeted at the right audience supported by effective marketing and promotion translate into astonishing sales growth. Payment processing volumes escalate along with the rapid growth, both in the total amounts and in the numbers of transactions. It would seem that any acquiring bank would be happy to establish merchant accounts for digital content merchants, right? Unfortunately for digital content businesses, obtaining and keeping merchant account services is a challenge. Fast growing sales means the merchant accounts must be flexible enough to allow sales growth. Many acquiring banks fear rather than embrace quickly growing businesses. Fast growth means increased risk. Digital downloads as a product carry an inherently higher risk of chargebacks. A digital download product is delivered to the buyer immediately. It’s easy for a consumer to say the product was not received and insist on a return or, worse, initiate a charge back with the cardholder issuing bank. How can the merchant prove the product was delivered? In addition, digital content merchants are frequently targeted by cyber criminals using stolen credit card information to buy the product. Instant delivery gives criminals a fast way to determine whether or not a stolen card is still useable by making a quick hit and run purchase.

Have you ever thought about working an eCommerce business?
Have you ever thought about working an eCommerce business? Would you like to make money from your own home? The impact of young consumers in the on line business community is visible in the way they share product recommendations over the internet. The way eCommerce is changing, growing and improving every day is remarkable. What is eCommerce? eCommerce stands for electronic commerce which is used to describe doing business over the internet; the means of buying and selling goods on the Internet using web pages. That is something most anyone could do if they put there mind into it. Electronics has gained considerable attention with in home business opportunities over the last few years. And, there is no doubt that developments in wireless technology will have a great influence on the way in home business expands in the future. The field of digital electronics is exciting, fast moving, and constantly changing each and every day; even dashboard DVD players seem quaint and may even become obsolete when you consider how fast electronics research and development is moving in our world today. I decided to start my on line business because I wanted to be at home with my family. It is important to me to be with my children, but my working is a necessity. I knew I had to do something that would allow me to both stay at home and still have the money coming in to raise my children. That s when I decided to try an online business of my own. I must admit the hours it took to start this business was stressful but in the end it has been well worth the time. Because I have succeeded I know now that if a person will put a little time and effort into this kind of business the rewards will be great.
I was a military brat and is now a at home mom. I am working at home with eCommerce and am able to stay home with my children. With eCommerce I can live my dream and work at home.
Business Phones Keep Up With Changes In Technology
The basic premise that defines a business phone has been simple and well stated for many years. Business phones, unlike home telephones, need to be able to handle a large call volume and provide functionality that is useful to the end user. This usually includes the ability to field several calls at the same time, put people on hold when necessary, and direct phone traffic to wherever it needs to go. Business phones have accomplished these tasks with flying colors going all the way back the earliest models. Even more impressive, however, is the ability business phone manufacturers have shown to incorporate new and expanding technologies into their products.
Technology has grown by leaps and bounds, especially in the last two decades. From faxes to cellular phones and the dawning of the computer age, changes that have affected phones in general, but particularly business phones, have been varying and abundant. Looking at other industries where technology has influenced design and protocols, one can easily see that not all manufacturers share the same competitiveness that business phone manufacturers share in relation to keeping their products as current as possible. Digital telephones were available before the digital alarm clock, digital wrist watch or the digital thermostat.
While it could be argued for the digital alarm clock or the digital wrist watch that this is simply a matter of function not really benefitting form, I doubt that anyone would dispute the exclusion of the thermostat in that description. Like the digitalization of the telephone, digitalized thermostats offer options that were not possible prior to the conversion. From the ability to adjust temperature settings based on time to the increased level of accuracy, digitalization has offered great benefits to this particular product. Why then, were products such as these so much slower than the business telephone to adopt digitalization?
It is more a testament to the dedication of telephone equipment manufacturers than it is a knock on other product manufacturers. The telephone business is highly competitive, and the ultimate beneficiary of this competitiveness is the consumer. Whatever changes lie ahead for technology, you can be certain that business phone manufacturers will incorporate those changes into their products.

DXCaf ©s: The New E-conomy Is Coming
It seems they’ve been busy on the isle of Vanuatu … That’s where a company called Global Digital Transfers Inc (’GDT’) placed their headquarters for DXinOne, the e-currency exchange system that is the main topic on Longer Life’s Opportunity page. Since I last looked at the DXiO website, I’ve seen a number of new developments there, featuring services from travel to advertising with earnings and payments tendered by their unique coin of the cyber-realm, the digot. It’s becoming quite obvious that they’re not only easing a new e-currency into cyberspace, but an entire DXEconomy to support it. That’s a very clever strategy. Now, GDT is taking measures to ensure their presence in the physical world, too. They are introducing a bricks-&-mortar element to their e-currency exchange business, deploying franchises for what they term ‘LDXMerchants’ (The ‘L’ stands for ‘Licensed’) to be visible via storefront at a location near you. Their function would be to service high-volume transactions in a 21st-century banking sort of manner that is yet to be fully announced. Furthermore, they intend to incorporate other DX services into those facilities, with the obvious intention of attracting more attention to their veritable range of operations. They’re going to call these centers DXCaf ©s. Fittingly, the flagship of this franchise will be located in Port Vila, the capital of Vanuatu. Such a choice not only displays respect for their host nation, it’s also a relatively isolated — and thus easily controlled — site that will allow them to amend any aspect of its activities without drawing mainstream attention. This should increase their chances of presenting a more polished product to the world at large. GDT has announced that their intentions will be uncompromising in their selection of global locations. They state that “We are currently working on several items that will help us present these establishments around the world, as taking short cuts will not be an option for us. The first task is to set a criterion, upon which the location of our DXCaf ©s will be based. It is ideal that we use high traffic locations; airports, transportation terminals, accommodation, shopping centers or malls are all prime locations for us.” It’s clear they’re still somewhere in the planning stages when they state the basis of their deliberations when defining the characteristics of the DXCaf ©s in these terms: “Size of the DXCaf ©s is also important; our designers have been working on several different concepts based on floor size. Whether as a full build or a new fit-out, a set criteria needs to be established. There is also nothing limiting us from having several DXCaf ©s in the one city, each DXCaf © may have a set coverage in regards to population, cliental and security.” However, most of these decisions must have been made already. GDT has announced that they intend to establish their first DXCaf ©s outside Vanuatu during the months of April and May 2006 and have claimed they are currently on target to achieve this goal. To accommodate such a timetable, they say they have designed and commenced manufacture on the fit-out for the physical plants and prepared state-of-the-art computer components and technology for installation into each DXCaf ©. High volumes of value are expected to be exchanged, so GDT will be requiring license agreements for each LDX/DXCaf © proprietor. They will be private agreements designed for congruence with various countries’ financial regulatory requirements. The license agreements are intended to ensure that all DX operations will be in accord with the needs and requirements of DXInOne and its users. The purchase price for an LDX/DXCaf © license is yet to be finalized and will only be available upon request. I would anticipate this amount to be between $650,000 and $1,000,000 so as to ensure that only the most responsible and capable proprietors would be enlisted. These are ambitious plans. I firmly believe there’s a market for their services, so I continue to contend that DXinOne is worth our attention. Very soon, it could be worth more than that. Much more.

Accepting Online Payments - Cost vs. Convenience
If you rely on online marketing to promote and market your business, you know that you must accept credit card payments online to be successful. Immediacy and convenience are the hallmarks of online transactions. When you re making a decision about which online payment solution to use, you will ask yourself the following question. Should I pay a bit extra for a professional solution or should I pinch pennies and hope that a free solution will do? This is a fair and legitimate question for all online businesses especially those that are new and financially constrained. We all want to save money. The question can be restated and better answered as Is it worth it to pay more to have branded payment pages, customized thank you notes and receipts, a level of automation in post-sales processing, and ease in reporting ? The answer, I believe, is yes it is definitely worth the extra expense because of the time and effort that you will save by not having to perform the non-revenue generating tasks that managing and dealing with a merchant account or a generic payment processor entails. How much time does it take to answer calls from clients that are unsure what to do when they get to your free generic payment page, or track down payments from clients that didn t pay because they couldn t understand the generic payment page instructions (enter your account name etc.)? How much time does it take to manually cut and paste email addresses or send thank you notes and receipts to clients? How much time does it take to change pricing or the language on your do it yourself payment page? The non-revenue generating tasks required to manage a business are necessary but should not become the main activities of the business. If you are a service professional, i.e., a coach or consultant, your time should be spent in line with the 80-20 rule. That is; 80% of your time should be spent on revenue generating activities and 20% on other activities such as the administration of the business. Think about it in terms of how much your time is worth. For every hour that you spend dealing with non-revenue generating activities, multiply it by the value of an hour of your time. The answer to this math problem is how much money you are losing by performing these tasks yourself. If the number of hours you spend on administrative tasks exceeds 20% of your work week you are cheating yourself out of revenue. And, aside from the lost revenue potential, you will soon find that administrative busy work is a drain on your motivation, energy and ultimately the success of your business. If paying an extra $10 a month for a professional, managed online payment processing solution helps you to; * reduce the time you ll spend searching for client payment information, * automate post sales follow up and receipt delivery to clients, * quickly get new payment pages up and receiving payments, * reduce calls from clients making payments, * look more professional and trustworthy, * not have to pay a web developer for a secure site and * save money by not paying gateway fees, statement fees and other variable merchant account fees then using a premium online payment processor isn t just worth the extra 33 cents a day, it s a necessary cost of doing business right. ———————— Can an online payment processor actually save you time instead of creating extra tasks?
