eBay Tips - How to Create an Attention Grabbing and Profitable Auction Listing
Selling on eBay is just like any other business; to become an eBay success, you need to follow the rules and provide the kind of customer satisfaction that will translate into increased eBay sales. eBay can be a quick and easy way to make money on the World Wide Web. In my opinion it is the perfect way to work at home for just about everyone: retirees, disabled, singles, couples, college students, etc. With over 10 million active listings all over the world at any one time and over 42 million active buyers and sellers, eBay truly gives you a huge global market for your item. But even with all of that in your favor, there are still certain things that you must do to maximize the possibilities of a profitable sale. Read on if you would like to learn how to avoid some costly mistakes and make the most out of your eBay selling experience. Listing Title A good, descriptive and attention grabbing title is the single most important part of any listing on eBay. The title of your item should draw a lot of potential purchasers to your merchandise. The only problem with this is eBay only allows 55 letters per title, so you have to be as descriptive as you can in as few words as possible to draw the most attention to your ad. So all you have to do is learn how to create you’re listing titles to make people want to bid on you’re item. No problem right? Well I m going to try and make it a little easier. When coming up with your title, you will want to do some research on what other sellers are doing. Search for other items similar to yours and get some ideas from the most successful listings. (The ones with the most bids) When writing your eBay title, always focus on the most important keywords first. Proper grammar gets thrown out the window here. Just get as descriptive with your keywords as you can in the limited space you have. Stay away from words like Stunning, Amazing, Fabulous, etc. People don t search for these words, so they are just taking up valuable space. If you have room after writing a good keyword rich title then you can consider them for effect, but ONLY as a last resort. Even though I said grammar is out, spelling is definitely in. Always double check your title for spelling errors before listing it. If your main keywords are spelled wrong, the chances of making a good profit are slim to none, and slim left town. In fact some people make there living just searching for misspelled listings and buying them for real cheap and reselling for a profit. While this is great for them, you don t want to be the fool that there getting rich on. So now you re ready to start on your title. Now let s move on to the rest of the listing, shall we. Listing Description It is also very important, when selling on eBay, to have a powerful item description. And the trick to writing a strong and profitable listing description is to combine search engine friendly phrasing with concrete details about the product in a way that will entice people to bid on your product. Take the time to craft your eBay listing just as you would your title or any other ad. Also another important ingredient is the need to be very careful that you give an accurate description of any item you are selling, including listing any flaws that might exist. Never try to hide anything from your buyers, because it may just come back to bite you in the, you no what. As in any business, eBay listings demand a certain level of skill and experience in order to produce good results. So the key to getting the best results out of your listing is to take your time, do some research, and think about what you might search for if it was you looking for this item. Then be as descriptive as possible including things like, size, color, model number, brand name, etc. Also pay attention to proper spelling and grammar to look as professional as possible. Remember the more info you give willingly, the less your potential buyer has to think about when its decision time. Even though the title is what gets the buyers in the door so to speak, the description is what closes the deal. Pictures Unless you are going to only sell products from vendors that can supply pictures, I highly recommend making the investment in a digital camera. And I also recommend that you pay as much attention to the pictures of your eBay listing as to your writing. If you want to be truly successful at the selling game you should take some time to learn more about how to take a good picture. As they say, a picture tells a thousand words, so always include a good picture or pictures of your item. Also, just like in the text of the listing, if the item you are selling has any damages or flaws, make sure to document this with a clear picture. And the more pictures you have the better off you will be. eBay charges extra if you host more than one picture on there site, but there are several good websites that offer free image hosting service for remote hosting of pictures for auction sites such as eBay and Yahoo. Take some time to search for these to save some money. Extra Features Now that the most important parts are behind you, let s look at some of the add-ons you can use to further draw attention to your eBay listings. Some of these can be expensive to use unless you are selling a higher dollar item, so I am just going to talk about the two that I like to use. In my experience the 2 extras that give the best return on investment are gallery picture and making your title bold. The bold headline costs $1.00 and can definitely make your title stand out from the rest on the page. I only use this occasionally though, as a good title and gallery picture can have a similar effect for much less. The gallery is my personal favorite. For only 35 cents you can add a small picture to the main auction search page of your listing. Like I said before a picture is worth a thousand words, and a good gallery picture coupled with a well written title can really draw in a large amount of potential buyers. Conclusion So there you are. You now have a crash course in creating a good profit pulling listing on eBay. Of course there are many more tips and techniques that you can utilize, but this is a good start. A couple other things to keep in mind is your shipping and selling policies. You will want to make sure you have all of this spelled out clearly in all of your listings. Again the more you tell them to start, the less they have to think about when its time to make a decision on where to buy there item. Now it s time to start listing and practice, practice, practice. The more you do it the better you will be. Good luck and happy selling!! Ryan Horne www.rjhorne.net

Starting a Successful E-bay Business
So you’re looking to start an E-bay Business, are you! With more than 430,000 people in the United States alone working full or part time on E-bay, it may be easier than you think to start an E-bay business. If you feel E-bay is just for selling novelty items, or a low value trinket type outlet, you should look again. An E-bay business can sell anything from trinkets to antiques all the way to automobiles. Some of the most popular of the thousands of categories are automobiles and auto supplies, consumer electronics, computers, clothes and accessories, books, movies and music. E-bay was started in 1995 and has become the world’s biggest online auction site, selling all kinds of products and services. There is about 1,000 dollars in sales every second. There are 135 million registered users in 32 countries. So you can see how your E-bay business can have a huge exposure. Before you start an E-bay business you should decide if you want to be a full time business or just a part time hobby. Do you want to work from your home or set up an outside office to work from? Do you want to work on your own or do you want to have employees? Do you want to become a Power Seller or a Trade Assistant? Actually, it’s really difficult to decide all those things in advance. But you can set them up as goals in your business plan. It really is best to start small. This way, you can decide if you like the challenges enough to go further. There will be many disappointments, but look at them as the learning process. Make no mistake about the fact that it’s become quite difficult to make big easy profits. So Ok it’s easy to start, but you will work hard to find the key to success. It is a good idea to practice before officially beginning an E-bay business. It’s advisable to first do a few purchases of some things you could use around the house. Give feedback after a successful buy. Note the different experiences you will have with each different auction. This could teach you a lot before you begin selling. Then, you can start selling. Try different headlines and descriptions on a small scale. Practice taking pictures and try different listing formats. Just sell one or two items at a time at first to get comfortable and confident. This should improve your chances of success for when you take your E-bay business to the next level. Getting set up with an E-bay business just takes a few minutes. You will need to fill an application online, and supply your name, address, telephone number, a credit card and or a checking account. This is used for identification, as well as payment purposes. When setting up your E-bay business you should also open a PayPal account. This is the largest worldwide payment service. PayPal was purchased by E-bay when they saw how popular the payment system became. It allows people to use credit cards or their checking accounts to pay you, as well as simplifying your purchases. The fees are very reasonable, and it eliminates the need to have a costly merchant account. When you set up your E-bay business, remember to set up your “About Me” page, which is a free E-bay feature that allows you to promote your business and yourself. When you start your E-bay business and succeed in making regular sales, you may want to register with Federal, State, and local tax authorities. You also may want to form a corporation or LLC to protect yourself from any legal liability. By now you should have signed up for at least 6 online newsletters specializing in E-bay and Auctions in general. From these, you will discover sources for finding products to sell, and especially, some drop-shippers. Your E-bay business should now something to specialize in. This can be the most difficult challenge you will face with your E-bay business. You need to pick something that you know about, has a profit potential, and is not hard to photograph or ship. Before you put something up for sale look to see what similar items sold for and ask, can I make money with this? A key point to remember is that what ever you offer must fill a need. You must do your research for every item you consider selling. If your E-bay business makes your purchasing task simple and uncomplicated, you have a much better chance of success. In other words, if you find a niche, then specialize. This means your E-bay business should sell like items. If you sell CD’s, then having CD racks or players would be a good combination. The more compatible items you have on sale, the better your chances of success. People would much rather purchase what they need from one supplier that they have learned to trust. After you have gotten comfortable with auction formats, and other aspects of your E-bay business remember not to get complacent. You will want to read about any new features, keep in touch with your customers, and also be aware of what your competition is doing. Now you’re making enough sales to require you to automate. Don’t underestimate the value of simplifying your work through automation. And, you must keep growing by learning and changing to better formats. That’s the only way to take your E-bay business to its full potential and maximize you’re earning potential. Set your goal to becoming a Power-Seller. by Fred Farah

Drop Shipping
As you are reading this article right now, thousands of eBayers are running there own auction business. Some of them make little money, and some of them make real huge profits. Why? It is mostly due to the products they choose to sell, the Dropshippers they use and how they promote their eBay Business.
If you are new to Internet Marketing, promotion of your new eBay Business is key. Also, staying up to date with all the new and better ways to advertise and promote your business is cruical. Things on the Internet can change almost over night and to keep your eBay Business making money you must keep up with those changes. But don’t be discouraged, the ease of using Dropshippers will allow you more time to concentrate on improving your sales skills and learning how to bring more customers to your eBay auctions.
The great thing about Dropshipping, as outlined in my book, is that it will allow you to operate a Home Based Business as an Internet Marketer without ever worrying about storage of inventory, packaging of inventory, or even shipping of that inventory. How? The Dropship supplier will look after all of that for you. And even greater still is the fact that your auction business will cost you very little to get started. The fact is, most Dropshippers charge you nothing to become a member to sell their products. While others may charge just a nominal administration fee. So, with such a low financial risk the only thing you have to lose is a bit of your time.
How does one put together Dropshipping and eBay? It’s really very simple. First, browse eBay to see what kind of product(s) you would like to sell. Then sign up as a member with eBay. Once you have decided on a product(s), locate a Dropshipper for that product(s). Sign up with that Dropshipper and then place an auction on eBay for the item.. Once your auction is over and you have a buyer for the product email your Dropshipper the required information. The Dropshipper will ship the product directly to your customer, and charge your account the wholesale price for that product. The difference between your wholesale cost and your retail price is pure profit!
To run a successful eBay Business you will need to sell what the public wants to buy. Always research any product before you decide to sell it. Make sure it is popular and you can get it at a great price.

Get Rid of the Biggest Pains in the eBay Business
How would you like to get rid of some of the biggest pains
in selling items on eBay?
How would you like to have a product where there is:
No scouring the internet or your community looking for
saleable products
No researching for, or dealing with, suppliers,
wholesalers or dealers
No investing hard earned dollars, upfront, in products
No inventorying of products or packaging to store in your
home
No packaging of products after they are sold
No traveling to the post office or wherever, to ship them.
No charging outrageous shipping fees
No more making minuscule profits of only 20 to 30%
What is the answer? Sell digital products!
Digital products can be ebooks, DVD’s, reports, videos,
CD’s and more.
Digital products are reports, files, or movies that are
digital (or electronic) and are meant to reside on the
computer and be transferred digitally.
All these above products are similar so let’s focus on
ebooks. Ebooks are basically long reports, stories or how-
to’s which are written, sold and downloaded directly from a
web site or e-mailed to the buyer. Then, if the buyer
prefers, he can print a hard copy of the ebook to read in
his leisure.
Where do you get these ebooks? Well, that would take a
long explanation, but briefly, they are generally written
by the seller. However, they can be purchased from others,
have others write them for you, or interview an authority
and transcribe the interview.
To sell a digital product on eBay, you simply write a good
sales page and list it. When someone buys the e-book, you
just e-mail the buyer (with the ebook) or tell him where he
can download it.
Let’s look at the benefits in a little more detail:
1.) You get to keep 100% of the profits. Once the products
are written (or developed) there is no further cost and all
profits are yours.
2.) You don’t have to sell a physical product, i.e.,
something you can hold or handle. This results in many
benefits, namely:
You don’t have to buy every product you sell! This frees
up a lot of your money that you would have to invest in
inventory. It also eliminates buying products and not
selling them. How many times do we see something and say
that would be good to sell on ebay. Then we buy it and
either never list it, or list it and it doesn’t sell.
Digital products on the other hand are free to create.
You never have to worry about running out of products.
Since they are all digital you make one copy and it can
last indefinitely.
You don’t have to worry about looking for new dealers,
suppliers or wholesalers. This can be very time consuming
to find the right dealer at the right price. But just as
important, you don’t have to deal with them.
You won’t need any storage space for the products or
packaging materials. All you need is space on your hard
drive.
There is no shipping and handling costs. You can even have
an automatic downlink link where it all happens instantly
and automatically. Your customers are happy because they
get it without paying any shipping charges and you are
happy because you don’t have to handle, package or
transport anything.
You eliminate the single biggest reason people refuse to
buy stuff online: paying too much for shipping charges.
There you have it - eight benefits of digital products.
Remember by selling digital products you eliminate the
most painful aspects of selling on ebay.
Some people are selling digital products on eBay and are
making a ‘killing’. You can be one of them too. Just
consider it!
